▍What You're Buying
The Bose SoundLink Max is a rechargeable Bluetooth speaker with stereo playback and a removable rope handle. It is designed to move between listening spots, from a table at home to a sheltered outdoor gathering. Haiven lists the SoundLink Max in black and blue; confirm the colour and package contents when choosing yours.
Think about where it will live most often. A handle is useful for carrying a speaker from room to room, but you still need a stable surface and enough space in your bag if you plan to take it further.
▍How It Works
Pair it through your phone's Bluetooth settings, then play audio from that device. The Bose app adds settings and updates. A 3.5mm auxiliary input also accepts a wired source, using an audio cable purchased separately. Connecting that cable disconnects Bluetooth.
Charge the speaker through USB-C. Bose quotes up to 20 hours of playback, but its owner's guide gives up to three hours at maximum volume. Those are test results rather than a promise for every outing. Volume, audio, temperature and charging another device affect running time.
▍Why We Chose It
We chose it for the combination of straightforward wireless listening, a wired input and a carry handle. Those features make sense for someone who wants to use the same speaker in several places instead of leaving it permanently connected to one source.
Before deciding, consider your own routine: where you listen, how far you carry the speaker and whether you need wired playback. That is a more useful starting point than choosing on battery hours alone.
▍What Sets It Apart
- USB-C output: the speaker can charge a connected phone from its own battery.
- Adjustable sound: the Bose app offers bass, midrange and treble controls.
- Two-speaker options: two SoundLink Max units can play in Party Mode or provide separate left and right channels in Stereo Mode.
There are important limits. It has no microphone for speakerphone calls. Its IP67 rating covers defined water and dust exposure, but Bose says it is not designed for playback when wet. After contact with salt or chlorinated water, follow the manufacturer's rinsing advice and fully dry the USB-C port before charging.
▍Why We Recommend It
Consider the SoundLink Max if portable music playback, flexible connections and a carry handle match your needs. Check the charger supplied with the exact Haiven package, because Bose notes that power-supply inclusion varies by region. Plan for a recharge if you expect a long session at high volume.
